If teaching has always been a draw for you, but you aren’t sure if teaching full-time is for you, becoming an assistant teacher will fill both urges. You receive just as much contact with students as teachers do, but the grading and outside responsibilities are not as intense as an assistant teacher. The days can be flexible with being an assistant, although many schools do prefer you to work 5 days a week. The part-time aspect of this job comes from not working as many hours as a full-time teacher. Therefore, you must be available Mondays through Fridays during the regular school day so as to accommodate the hours needed by the school. This position also entails a large amount of standing and moving up and down so your body needs to be in good physical condition.
